Professor Deborah Lipstadt said this “But on antisemitism, she said Tuesday, Rubio “gets it — 100%.”
Let me site one example in recent history. Didn’t Kanye West get into trouble over his antisemitism? Wasn’t West a good friend of Donald Trump? Isn’t Marco Rubio, who gets it 100%, a good friend of Donald Trump? Rubio is now secretary of state. You have two friends of Kanye West who saw something. They didn’t say something. And they didn’t do anything as Kanye West sunk deep into antisemitism.
And we witnessed all that antisemitism on campus. We learned about settlements made on behalf of Jews and Muslims, but the Trump Congress, even in 2023, did not care about the Islamophobia. Did Rubio speak up for those young men and women? The air is filled with silence. And where was Professor Lipstadt on the campus war? Calling for free speech? More was needed during that year and Jewish leadership failed for not knowing enough.
Take the recent kidnapping and murder of a rabbi in Dubai. I know what needs to be done. What advances in fighting antisemitism in that part of the world have been made?
There were 3 suspects, Uzbeks, and what progress in their nation has been made to educate people in that nation. Again. You see something, you say something, you do something.
I admire the knowledge of Professor Lipstadt, and I’ve recommended her book to colleges throughout the United States. The problem on campuses and off campus as well is not just “free speech” which she clearly knows how to defend. The problem is knowing more of history including where to begin that history. Norman Finklestein admitted in a You Tube that his bias causes him to start in 1948 and that is an extreme bias against Israel. My article on Brothers and Landsman where I wrote “Brothers and landsman must learn more. The Arabs in Palestine massacred Orthodox Jews in Palestine four years before the rise of Hitler to power in Germany. Jews had been treated as second class citizens before The Balfour Declaration (1917) that reminds me of Jim Crow in the American South.”
Professor Lipstadt does not have faith in Donald Trump and Rubio works for Donald Trump. That should tell you enough and the 100% mark given to Rubio has been greatly reduced by my comments. Maybe he will get 75%.
