Biden Just Pardoned William Boyland and I Spoke in Boyland’s Office in 2007

In Albany, New York, Assemblyman Boyland had told me that the governor went into a committee meeting in which everyone decided to keep the GED test free to the people of New York. The money would be put into the state budget immediately.

I had told Boyland that Dr. Patricia Mooney had asked me to tell people in government to get $2.1 million put into the budget for GED testing. The newspaper El Diario-La Prensa had covered the shortage, so I knew about that and the fact that Governor Pataki had used the money for GED preparation programs.

I was telling people then as I would tell people today that Governor Spitzer ripped up his budget and put $2.1 million into it.

Donald Trump should not be pardoned, I recently told a U.S. Congressman. Boyland has served years in prison and the report right now is that he taught GED there and English classes.

There is more to say about Boyland who has a special place in my heart. He asked me to speak in his office on Boyland Street in Brooklyn and he showed me the importance of history in his work. Harlem residents were upset about the bus depot there, the noise, pollution, traffic etc. If I remember correctly, he said they wanted the buses to be moved to a white neighborhood. Since he knew the history of that depot, he told the residents that the bus depot was originally in a white neighborhood since Harlem was white before Blacks people dominated there.

It made me also think about Sonny Hill, the basketball legend from Philadelphia who loved telling people the history of basketball. And the way he told it was that basketball was largely a Jewish sport at one point before Black people got involved in greater numbers, were allowed into schools and professional teams and then began to dominate the game. The latter making the sport dominated by Black people. Well at least the player side of the sport.

I did do something really important just after the meeting started in Assemblyman Boyland’s office. A woman raised her hand and needed help with another matter. Her daughter’s high school diploma was destroyed in a fire at her school. I told the woman that I would help her and asked her to wait until after my talk about GED. I cannot even remember one word that I said about GED right now since that was 17 years ago. By Tuesday, I found out that the state would not issue another diploma to her daughter, but it would provide a letter stating that she had graduated from school in New York. As usual, I took care of business my way. I made a promise, and I kept it.

Do not pardon Trump and a pardon for those who were found guilty for their activities at The Capitol would be a reward for their crimes. Nazis and Communists rewarded their people for killing Jews and others in history. Learn more about history.

This is the first time in my life that I have learned that I know a man pardoned by the president. I wonder, also, if anyone else is on the list of pardoned people. It is possible.
