Edith Piaf – Marcel Cerdan deceased October28, 1949
Celine Dion – René Angélil deceased January 14, 2016
And I contacted NBC News FACEBOOK because the comments about Celine Dion at the Eiffel Tower never mentioned the tragic loss of Edith Piaf of her lover Marcel Cerdan.
The song was dedicated by Edith Piaf to Cerdan. Cerdan knocked out Tony Zale in Jersey City, New Jersey to win in 1948.
You can now see what hundreds of people on FACEBOOK might not have known about and there might have been one percent who knew about Piaf (Cerdan) and nobody mentioned Celine’s love for her husband.
Piaf was accused of collaborating with the Nazis in World War II. She could have been cancelled after the war and would not have been able to appear in radio transmissions.
